Increase Blog Traffic - 3 Top Tips To Increase Visitors

Blogging has literally exploded over the last few years and it has become the most popular way for both businesses and individuals to create an online presence for themselves. Blogs are relatively easy to set up, it costs nothing or very little to build a blog and start posting content, depending on your chosen platform. However, for every successful one there are thousands which have failed. So what makes a successful blog quite so successful and what puts it apart from those which have failed miserably?
In this article we're going to look at 3 great ideas to increase blog traffic.
Time and effort is a large part of it. Many people think they can just upload a blog, post a few pages of content and leave it. Unfortunately this isn't the case. Building a blog and making it successful takes time and patience, you also need to think about how you're going to drive traffic towards it. Traffic is the lifeblood of your blog, without traffic, there's no real point in building a blog.
Here are 3 proven ways to increase blog traffic
1. Post On A Regular Basis
Ensuring you post fresh content to your blog is an absolute minimum requirement. If you're not updating your blog at least twice a week your readers will become bored and will stop visiting. However not many people have the time to post content to a blog that often. A good way of getting round this is to write several posts at any one time and postdate them (This is very easy to do) A blog gives you the ability to postdate months or even years in advance. If you're not willing or able to visit your blog on a regular basis then this is an option you could consider when trying to increase blog traffic.
2. Comment On Other Blogs
Visiting other blogs and posting decent relevant comments is also another way of driving traffic to your blog. Your comments can be factual or humorous, it doesn't really matter. You're showing the blog owner that you respect his blog enough to visit it yourself rather than posting comments via automated means. If your comment is interesting or amusing enough you'll probably get replies from other users. You've dropped the link to your blog with those comments, which means you get a nice backlink for others to follow. That backlink also helps your own blog rise higher in the search engines and will in turn increase blog traffic.
3. Join A Forum
Most forums let you link to your sites in your signature so every time you make a post, the link which is embedded into that signature is also posted. If you've joined a huge well known forum then your blog link is on view for thousands of other like minded people to view, and if they go ahead and click on the link and visit your blog, this will undoubtedly increase blog traffic considerably.
Start thinking outside the box and you'll find your traffic will soon start to flow. Building a readership can be a slow business but if you persevere you'll eventually increase blog traffic to the levels you want.
